Greg Kurstin and Inara George are The Bird And The Bee. Greg is a producer and musician who has worked with Lily Allen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beck and The Flaming Lips. Inara George is a vocalist who has had 2 solo records as well as earlier stints with the groups Lode and Merrick. Ray Guns Are Not Just The Future is the 2nd full-length release from the duo. Please take the time to check out the self-titled debut as well. Some of the highlights from the new record include: My Love, Meteor, and Love Letter To Japan…here’s the video for that song:
The group also has a track, Diamond Dave, which is a tribute to David Lee Roth. Speaking of which, if you are a fan, and even if you’re not, check out these links, they’ve brought me great joy! www.thetyser.comand http://shitbagz.com/gameZ/assteroidZDDEbeta pardon the language!
I first heard Ruthie Foster a couple of years ago. I started to listen, and her voice demanded attention. That record was called The Phenomenal Ruthie Foster, and the new release is The Truth According To Ruthie Foster. I recommend both! Highlights include: the Patty Griffin penned, When It Don’t Come Easy, (You Keep Me) Hangin’ On, Nickel And A Nail, and this song, Stone Love, from her myspace page:

The Fray are back with their 2nd CD, which is self-titled. The 1st release, How To Save A Life, was very successful and this record should do just as well. They didn’t rush a new record out and they didn’t try to reinvent the wheel, or go in some crazy direction. They made a solid pop/rock record that will definitely sound good on the radio and will be sure to please their core fanbase. The first two songs are really good, Syndicate and Absolute, Never Say Never is the big ballad that will be a big hit. You Found Me is the first single and is already flying up the charts:
Franz Ferdinand is just a great band. They consistently make music that makes you move and rocks. Just about every song on the new record, Tonight could be used in a commercial, and I mean that in a good way. Franz Ferdinand is a combination of punk, new wave, rock, alternative and pop. Every song has a hook and is catchy as hell. Highlights include: Ulysses, Turn It On, Bite Hard, the anthemic What She Came For and the awesome Can’t Stop Feeling. Here is their youtube page, featuring Ulysses:
