REVIEW OF REVIEWS

SPINNER

“Synesthesia is when your brain sees music as colors. That is what my brain does, and these are the colors I see when I hear this song,” lead vocalist Sam Endicott tells Spinner of the video’s concept. “As in the song, the astronaut is lost, searching for his angel. Except, in the video, she’s a sexy space cyber solaris siren. In space.”

MUSIC UNDER FIRE

When fans of The Bravery reference the group, the main topic of conversation tends to fall with a phenomenal live show. To no surprise, songs such as “Swollen Summer”, “Honest Mistake” and “Tyrant” are not songs to relax and fold your arms to, rather they are turbulent expressions trembling with energy. Now the five stars from New York have another answer to engage their audience – Stir the Blood.
This album continues their almost violent and self-chastising discography, which should once again channel into singles being overplayed. As “I Have Seen the Future” states, they are going to claim “a brave new world”. Other songs act on this more than tell this lofty goal, starting with “Slow Poison”, heading to “Hatefuck”, “The Spectator” and to just about every song on the 11-track album.
